La Biblioteca de San Agustinillo
Nestled at the foot of the Sierra Madre's del Sur right where the mountains
reach the ocean there is a small fishing community named San Agustinillo.
This tiny village of 50 families is where La Biblioteca de San Agustinillo
operates.
La Biblioteca was founded four years ago by four "gringas" who had the
desire to give back to their community. We operate entirely on donations
and during the past four years the library has grown with the efforts
our donors.
The library is free to the citizens of the Pueblo as well as tourists
visiting the area. The library offers:
* Books to lend
* Books to trade
* Books for sale
* Tourist Information
Other activities at the library include:
* Art programs for the children
* Chess tournaments
* Movies
* English Classes (when we have volunteers to teach)
* Spanish Classes (for tourists)
As a result of the generous contributions we have received, La Biblioteca
is now expanding, by providing computers to the children of San Agustinillo.
Let us introduce the new Michelle
Collins Wood Computer Center.
